1 June – 31 August, Wallstreet festival, Skellefteå city centre
Skellefteå now has a new street – the Street of Art – on Trädgårdsgatan in the city centre. Here you can see exhibitions of art displayed. There’s also a stage nearby offering a variety of performances and events. Don’t forget to check out the huge 300-square-metre artwork on the façade facing Kanalgatan, above H&M and Tatung.
6 June – The record match, Electrolux Home Arena
For many years, Skellefteå FF has held “The record match” every season, launched to try and beat the club’s historic attendance record at Norrvalla. That record still stands, but every year the event becomes a celebration. This year’s match is a home game in Division 2 against Kiruna FF, with kick-off at 13:00. The current attendance record dates back to 1958, when 8,624 spectators witnessed Skellefteå AIK's loss to Hammarby IF in a direct qualifier for Division 1, which was then the equivalent of Allsvenskan!
13 June – 13 July, Fiddler on the Roof, Medleforsparken
Reuben Sallmander and the rest of the cast return with the summer theatre production of Fiddler on the Roof. The classic 1964 musical tells the story of a Jewish village under threat from Russian forces.
13 June – Emma Nissen, Sara kulturhus
The artist gained major attention with her debut Love Like You Her. The album reached #1 on the iTunes Christian Music Chart in under 24 hours and sold out on Amazon shortly after release. Emma describes her music as Christian jazz.
13–14 June – Midnight Sun Race, Drivecenter Arena
No STCC competition this year, but the Porsche Carrera Cup is still on. For motorsport fans, it’s well worth spending a day or two of the summer holiday in Fällfors to catch this official Swedish Championship series for GT cars, featuring some of the fastest and most experienced drivers in the sport.

Trail running for the whole family, with start and finish at the school in Adak. Four different distances. Organised by Adak SK.
15 June – Tribute: ABBA, Gärdestad & Us, Sara kulturhus
Since launching in 2021, the band DAIS has performed with stars like John Lundvik, Shirley Clamp and Doug Seegers, and released music with Sonja Aldén. Now they’re coming to Skellefteå to perform their favourite songs.
17 June – 29 July – Cultural heritage walk, Nordanå
On several Tuesdays this summer, you can join one of the museum guides on a cultural heritage walk through Nordanå park and the surrounding area. It’s free and no booking is required.
17 June – 29 July – Open chamber at Bonnstan
For seven Tuesdays this summer, Skellefteå Museum will open chamber number 304 in Bonnstan. A museum host will be there to tell visitors more about the chamber and the history of Bonnstan.
26–29 June – Summertime Music & Life Festival, Norrvalla
Summertime is one of the biggest festivals in northern Sweden. This year’s lineup includes Axwell, Nause, Rebecca & Fiona, Den svenska björnstammen, Miss Li and Hanna Ferm.
26–28 June – Adak Film Festival, Saga Cinema, Adak
Three days of film and more at the classic Saga cinema from 1945. With few exceptions, the festival has been held every year since it began in 1993.
1–2 July – Burträsk market, Burträsk
Browse local delicacies and crafts at this popular market, open 10.00–18.00.
4 July – Skråmträsk Country Festival, Skråmträsk
Catch Mimi Werner, Doug Seegers, Erika Jonson and Portraits & Tales live on the outdoor stage. Music starts at 18.30 and the area stays open until 01.00.
4–7 July – Skellefteå Outdoor Beach Soccer, Boviken
For the 16th year, Skellefteå FF hosts one of Sweden’s biggest beach soccer tournaments. The cup draws teams from all ages, including children born as recently as 2018.
5 July – Världens Fest, Sjöparken, Malå
A fun-filled family festival with music and activities. This year’s acts include Melodifestivalen stars PA Modou Badjie and Albin Johnsén.
9 July – Örock, Gåsören, Skellefteå archipelago
Hop aboard with Nordisk Sjötaxi and head out to Gåsören for Örock. Boats depart regularly from Kurjovikens Havsmarina.
12–13 July – Bastuträsk Heritage Days, Bastuträsk
Exhibitions, food and more at the old school in Bastuträsk. Organised by the Bastuträsk Cultural Buildings Association.
17–20 July – Burträsksvängen, Burträsk
The beloved folk music festival turns 50 and celebrates with concerts, workshops, circus, dance, theatre and a market.
18–19 July – Trästocksfestivalen, Nordanå
Skellefteå’s most iconic festival, Trästocks has been going since 1991. Known for showcasing lesser-known acts, this year’s highlights include Bebop from Borlänge and The shades of orange from Sundsvall.
31 July – 3 August – Scandinavian Festival of Speed, Fällfors
This high-octane car festival offers track driving, drifting, classic car exhibitions, live music, kids’ activities, food and cold drinks. Visitors can even test-drive their own cars on a real racetrack.
1–3 August – Norsjö beach
Norsjö’s three-day beach volleyball event is a summer favourite. The tournament drew 86 teams and over 250 participants last year and has been the big homecoming weekend in Norsjö since 1996.
2 August – Burträsk Summermeet, Burträsk
A popular car and motorcycle meet at Burträsk Camping, open to vehicles over 30 years old and newer enthusiast cars. Around 2000 people and 250 vehicles typically attend.
3 August – Malå local heritage society turns 80
Celebrate this anniversary at the Malå heritage site, which includes a museum, bakery cottage, a 1960s museum and the story of Kniv-Elis.
9 August (and 19–20 September) – Lövånger harvest market, Lövånger church town
A charming market where you can browse and buy homemade and homegrown goods in a traditional setting.
16–17 August – Sami weekend, Lappstan, Malå
An annual cultural event featuring reindeer-themed activities, handicrafts and traditional competitions like lasso throwing.
19–23 August – International food festival, Skellefteå centre
Around 40 food stalls from 23 countries will fill the streets with flavours from across the globe at this five-day celebration of international cuisine.
