Crisis hub opens after Northvolt’s collapse

Northvolt's bankruptcy affects many employees and entrepreneurs in the Skellefteå region. To coordinate efforts and offer concrete support to those affected, the municipality and several authorities will jointly provide on-site support – a crisis hub.

The crisis hub is a collaboration between Statens servicecenter, Arbetsförmedlingen, Migrationsverket, Skatteverket and Skellefteå municipality.

The aim is to provide those affected at Northvolt – as well as others impacted, such as subcontractors – with access to relevant information, guidance and support.

– We are all convinced that a coordinated support effort is both effective and valuable for those affected, which was clearly shown in our evaluation of the joint efforts in April, says Jörgen Leding, regional director at the Statens servicecenter (Swedish Government Service Centre).

On-site support will be available from Monday, June 2 to Thursday, June 5, between 10:00 and 16:00 at Arbetsförmedlingen in Skellefteå. Representatives from the relevant authorities will be present.

As a complement to the in-person support, the Swedish Government Service Centre has also been tasked with creating a website with consolidated information for those affected by the bankruptcy. The site includes brief guidance and links to support from each authority and organisation.
