Grey, windy, maybe even a rain shower or two. No, the weather probably wasn't what most had hoped for on graduation day. But what does that matter when the town is filled with happy and well-dressed young people?
In the midst of the celebration, many students found it hard to grasp that their three years of hard work and determined studies had suddenly come to an end.
– It feels unreal. Like we’ll be back at school tomorrow, said Mathilda Åsén, moments after graduating from Anderstorpsgymnasiet.
Her classmate Kajsa Salomonsson agreed:
– It feels as if it’s going to continue for the rest of our lives.
They had been in the arts program and were pleased with their education. A special memory from their time at school was their class trip to Brussels—and, of course, all the festivities over the last week.
– Too little sleep but a lot of fun, Mathilda Åsén summed up.
Class SA22C received an extra loud cheer at the graduation ceremony. They had, in fact, won this year's student bingo. Some of the challenges included drinking fermented herring brine and lying down in an anthill.
– It was absolutely worth it. Anything for the class! says Oscar Walther.
How does it feel to have graduated from high school?
– High school was fun. But now I've been in school for twelve years and can't take any more, says Algot Pettersson.
So, no more studying this autumn?
– Well... probably, yes. But first, it's summer vacation!
