The month of June was unusually wet, according to meteorologist Marie Staerk who Norran spoke to earlier this summer. July has started with a mixed bag. One week into July and the sun seems to have made up its mind, from now on Skellefteå will be warm and sunny – at least for a while. SMHI’s meteorologist Kjell Lund brings Skellefteå positive news:
– It’s just getting better and better. After the beginning of the week the rain will dissipate. Warmer air will come in from the west which results in a high pressure ridge.
The weather looks promising this whole week. SMHI confirms that the nice weather can be expected to continue during parts of next week.
– The forecast looks fantastic. Over the weekend the temperature will stay above 25 degrees from the coast all the way up to Tärnaby and for the next 10 days. More sun, more heat the high meteorologist says and explains that the high pressure looks to dominate the beginning of next week.
How long will the good weather last?
– We make forecasts for ten days into the future and as early as seven days in they can be pretty unstable – but it looks like the high pressure weather will continue.
The sun will keep the warm temperatures here and the rain will have to wait – something many Skellefteå residents surely can rejoice at.
