Attempted rape case: police appeal for Erikslid witnesses

A woman has been taken to hospital by ambulance following an incident in Erikslid, Skellefteå.
Police are investigating the incident as attempted rape and are appealing to the public for information or observations that may be connected to what happened.

At around 10:30 on Monday morning, police were contacted after an injured woman was found in Erikslid. The case is being investigated as attempted rape, police said on their website.

The woman was conscious and able to speak, but was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Police are now appealing to the public for assistance. They are seeking information and observations, including details about a man who was reportedly in the area.

– We would really appreciate the public's help. If anyone has seen something or someone unusual, they should contact the police, says Åsa Mjörndal, police spokesperson.

Police were on site working on the case. Initially, they focused on investigative measures such as gathering information, securing evidence, and conducting interviews. A forensic examination was also carried out at the suspected crime scene.

Later on Monday evening, police updated their website regarding the case. They wrote that they had continued working throughout the day and that police technicians had carried out a forensic examination within the cordoned-off area. Evidence had been secured and interviews conducted. There is currently no suspect.
