Departures for the new charter flights will start in May next year and continue through June, followed by another round in August lasting until the end of September.

– Last week we saw a clear increase in bookings, perhaps a Northvolt effect after the positive news. The heatwave that northern Sweden has experienced this summer clearly hasn’t dampened the desire to travel, says Claes Pellvik, head of communications at Ving, which is organising the trips.

Robert Lindberg, CEO of Skellefteå airport, welcomes the new destination.

– We are pleased that Ving continues to expand the range and frequency of charter flights from Skellefteå Airport. We know that Crete is a very popular destination, he says.

Ving also reveals that departures to Gran Canaria from Skellefteå will return this winter, starting in December.
