A man in his 60s from Luleå has been missing since last week in Svannäs, Arjeplog.

He is believed to have gone out to pick cloudberries in difficult terrain. The search, which includes a helicopter, dogs and the Home Guard, is ongoing intensively.

The man, in his 60s, is described as an outdoorsman and in good health, and was reported missing on Sunday.

He left his cell phone in his cabin, making it difficult to locate him.

The police assess that his life may be in danger as the nights are getting cooler.

The search area is 40 square kilometers and the operation will continue until further notice.

The area is difficult to search due to extensive marshland and tough terrain, says Andreas Lestander, intervention police officer in Arjeplog (archive photo)
