In the letter representatives of the municipality express great concern, frustration and despair about the application of the “track change legislation” and the retroactive application when fully integrated families are to be deported.
They point out that the Migration Agency’s application does not indicate that particularly distressing grounds enables applicants to get a renewed work permit.
They also highlight the situation for Sara Ghorbani, Farhood Masoudi and their son Parham, who Norran and other media have written about earlier.
The family, who have deep roots in Norsjö, have still not heard anything from the Migration Agency, but live in constant worry about where they will go if they have to leave the country.
The letter also point out how important every person is in a small municipality:
“The public sector is struggling with a lack of expertise and great difficulties finding new staff. The private companies also, in spite of business recession, have great difficulties finding staff.”
To conclude the letter the representatives of the municipality call for guidelines for the Migration Agency with a more positive position on particularly distressing grounds.
The letter has been signed by Mikael Lindfors (S), Chair of the Municipal Assembly, Magnus Eriksson (S), Group Leader, Lars-Åke Holmgren (KD), Group Leader, Hans Klingstedt (V), Group Leader, Jennie Thorgren (L), Group Leader, and Eleonore Hedman, Municipal Chief Executive.
