When Norran speaks to Robert Norrhede, event manager for the International Food Festival, he is in the middle of preparations for the opening of the food festival in Västerås, the last stop before driving 740 kilometres north to Skellefteå
How does it feel to come to Skellefteå?
– It feels good to come to Skellefteå but less fun to drive nine hours, says Robert
The food festival that was here last year is returning again this year. The difference is that the event is a bit bigger this year
– We have some new things, for example we’ve got an Italian serving pasta in a parmesan wheel, says Robert
Unfortunately, the festival’s larger size causes some problems. In several cities they’ve had trouble finding parking. Skellefteå will be no exception.
Previously the festival could park its refrigerated trucks along Stationsgatan, but since it is now closed that isn’t possible. The new location offered by the municipality, however, has no electricity, which is needed for the refrigerated trucks
– I actually have a digital meeting with Skellefteå municipality this afternoon, so I’ll see what they say then, says Robert
Despite the parking issues, Robert looks forward to coming to Skellefteå
– I think it’s very nice where we set up around the park, and with the river running by down there. It will look very nice in the evenings, he says
