The alarm came in around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, reporting a grandstand fire at the O'Learys Arena football field. Fire services were dispatched and extinguished the blaze, but one grandstand section was completely destroyed.

Later in the morning, police arrived at the scene to conduct a forensic investigation. The current classification of the crime is arson.

– Technicians are investigating. It's usually not easy to find things after fires, but you never know, says Nicklas Classon, inspector with Skellefteå police.

After the rescue services left the scene, smoke was still rising from the debris on the ground.
